Frames the selected image to make it look like a Polaroid snapshot. The action creates a 1,000 x 1,000 pixel (300ppi) RGB document. Frame-it is a collection of coloured photographic edges that may be used to add a coloured border to the active image (without cropping). For best results, a resolution of 640 x 480 (pixels) or higher is recommended. Documentation is provided.

This action automates the popular Gaussian Blur technique for creating rounded corners. As an added benefit, the action is also capable of turning the rounded rectangle into a rounded frame of the specified thickness.

Adds a trendy halftone-patterned frame around the current image. To change the colour of the frame, simply fill the Background layer with the desired colour. (This action creates a duplicate of the selected image ensuring that the original image is unaltered.)

Rounded Border is a relatively simple action that adds a round-cornered inset frame around the perimeter of the selected image. TV Lines is a Photoshop action which adds those "oh so cool" scan lines to your image (on a separate layer). The TV Lines action comes in two flavours: "TV Lines - Small" adds a layer of alternating black and transparent lines (using 100% Overlay), while "TV Lines - Big" adds a more complex pattern (using 15% Overlay).

This action overlays realistic-looking falling snow on to the current image. Three snow layers of varying sizes and blurriness give the effect of depth. For additional realism, erase parts of the Snow Background layer if it's covering foreground objects.

This action sharpens the edges within your photographs without sharpening image noise and other featureless areas. The action prompts for the desired threshold value (larger values reveal more edges to be sharpened), as well as the amount of sharpening to apply (via the standard Unsharp Mask dialog box).

RP DNR (Ron Pacheco Digital Noise Reduction) is a noise reduction action for digital photographs. While it uses a simple approach, the performance is comparable - and in some cases better - than alternative noise reduction tools across a wide range of images.

One particularly useful feature that Photoshop lacks (prior to version 6) is the ability to crop a non-rectangular selection. AutoCrop is a simple, easy-to-use action for Photoshop 5.x that automatically crops your image based on the contents of the current layer. Simply select the appropriate layer, and AutoCrop does the rest (leaving all of your layers in tact).

Quite simply, this action places a horizontal and vertical guide at the centre of the canvas.

This action creates multiple copies of the selected image area and varies its density and colour. Use this action to test printed output in a non-colour-managed workflow. Simply open an image that you want to print, crop a (square) region from it (one that contains colour- and density-sensitive areas like flesh tone or neutrals), then run the action. Next, print the test file, and determine which square looks the best. Finally, return to the original file, make the necessary adjustments and print it. (The numbers across the top represent Colour Balance and the numbers at the bottom represent Density changes.)

Contract Canvas allows you to use the Contract command even when one or more sides of the selection touches the canvas boundaries, which for some odd reason Photoshop will not permit (even though ImageReady does).

Photoshop has an extensive implementation of keyboard shortcuts; however, not all commands have associated key shorts. This action set extends Photoshop's keyboard assignment by providing an additional 36 shortcuts to such frequently used commands as Crop, Stroke, Image Size, Canvas Size and many more. This simple action mirrors the active layer across both the vertical and horizontal axes (on a separate layer to ensure that the original layer remains unaltered) and then centres the results on the canvas. This can be useful for creating symmetrical shapes, repeating patterns, and refrigerator art.

This action creates nine variations of the selected image: a colour version, black and white and sepia tone to name a few. First, you need to create a template file (8 x 10in, 250ppi) to use as the background (it may even include your name or a watermark). Next, open an image file (any size) for which the variations are to be created. With the image in the foreground/selected and the template in the background/not selected, press the play button in the Actions palette and follow the provided directions.

This action increases the canvas size by the same amount on all sides. For example, if the canvas is 300 x 300 pixels and you enter 20 pixels for the amount, the resulting canvas size would be 340 x 340 (i.e. 300 + 20 + 20 = 340).

To use this action, select the bottom-most layer in the Layers palette and play the action. This action will save up to 20 layers as separate files by selecting the appropriate layer, duplicating it to a new document, prompting for the save name and then closing the new document.

This action produces a monochrome/greyscale stippled effect based on the selected image. The larger the image, the more detail that will be maintained. To add colour to your image add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, enable the Colorise option and select the desired hue. Alternatively, use the Magic Wand to select each of the different shades of grey and fill them with the desired colour. (Repeat for each shade of grey).

This action set contains two different actions for creating Windows-style tooltips: "Tooltip" creates a tooltip from an existing rectangular selection.
